Friendship

I had a special treat this weekend with my best friend Whitney coming up for a visit. We have been friends for over 20 years and it got me thinking about how lucky I am to have her friendship. I know that 20, 40 and 60 years from now she will still be my best friend!

Chris and I have both been blessed with the friends we have in our lives, both old and new. I hope that Ellie will have many great friendships as she grows up and that they will last throughout her lifetime. Thank you to all our friends that make our lives a better place.

Hayes Has Arrived

Congrats to the Uncle Scott, Auntie Mel, and Maddie for their newest member to the family. Hayes arrived from Korea yesterday and he's a happy and healthy 9 month old baby boy. We can't wait to meet him when they get back from Chicago.

Happy Birthday Grandma!

Today is a special day! It's Grandma's Birthday! Ellie is so excited about it. Ellie has a very special bond with her Grandma. They have shared so many wonderful times together and I know how lucky Ellie is to have her in her life. Actually, we are all very lucky to have her in our lives. I had my doubts about moving next door to my parents but it has been the best thing for all of us. I lived next door to my mom's parents growing up and it gave me a life time of memories. I am so happy that Ellie has the chance to make a lifetime of memories with her grandma. We love you and have a wonderful birthday!

I Wear My Sunglasses

Ellie found a pair of my sunglasses last week and she looked so cute that we had to take a picture. Actually we took six but I thought that might a little much to put on here. I think she looks better in my sunglasses than I do.

A Very Busy Weekend!

We had a very busy weekend! Ellie and I started off the weekend early with a trip to Pumpkinville. We had a wonderful time with our friends Kerry and Olivia. Olivia and Ellie loved running all over the place and going up and down the slides and Kerry and Mommy enjoyed some girl chat. Play dates are really for the moms. The girls got to pick out little pumpkins to take home with them from their adventure.

Saturday involved a day and night of camping. Most of you know that my idea of camping is CABIN, but I was a sport and headed out into the great wilderness for the sake of my daughter. We had a wonderful time camping and got to see a very large buck up close. The buck hung out at our camp site for most of the evening. Ellie had a wonderful time hiking and making smores with Aunt Kiki and Uncle John. Poor Uncle John ended doing all his hiking with Ellie on his shoulders. I think he might still be a little sore. The Dunnill's and their little girl Grace came up to have dinner with us after the UVA game. Ellie loved having another little girl to play with. She gets bored with just the grown ups.

I asked Ellie if she had fun camping and she said "Yes" and asked her if she wanted to go again and she said "NO". She really is her mommy little girl.

Father and Daughter Beach Trip

Chris and Ellie went down to Virginia Beach to hang out with the Mallonee Clan. They had a wonderful time and a special thanks to Grandad, Fran, Aunt Mary, Uncle John and Uncle Mike for helping entertain her during the trip. Ellie loved playing on the beach and helping take Prospect for a walk. Ellie has finally found some equipment that allows her to blow all kinds of bubbles. The new bubble machine makes for lots and lots of giggles.

Mommy missed her two love bugs a ton while they were gone. I had to work over the weekend but did manage to sneak in a girl's dinner out with Erin!

Picture Perfect

I love this picture. This was taken last week on our way to school. Ellie is happily going to school on Tuesday and Thursday. She actually gets impatient in the morning waiting for us to take her. She has made wonderful pictures for us and comes home with new songs to sing to us. It's times like this that I can forget about the screaming for no reason moments.
